Description
The Black Diamond Creative team is a full-service in-house agency that provides design, editorial, photographic, and video content, as well as develops and maintains the visual identity of the brand. The Studio Manager will work with the business unit directors, creative team, and digital asset manager to shoot, edit and deliver all of the required assets for ecommerce, workbooks, and marketing materials. Responsibilities include but are not limited to building seasonal briefs, photography, retouching, QC, coordination with business unit directors and Digital Asset Manager, apparel and equipment sample management, budgets, and building a creative contractor team.
Education
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in photography, visual arts, or digital media
Alternative: 5 years of relevant experience can substitute for degree requirement
Work Experience
Required: 2 years in a brand studio photography role
Preferred: Outdoor industry experience preferred
Requirements
Job Requirements
1. Execute equipment, apparel on form, and apparel on model photo shoots
2. Build out and coordinate creative contractor team for larger shoots (wardrobe, stylist, digitech, talent)
3. Build equipment and apparel shot lists for on set use including photo references
4. Attend seasonal product briefing and confirm sales sample order
5. Work with Digital Ops Manager to create shot list proposals based on product briefing for each category—share w/ BUDs & PLMs for review
6. Identify photo need schedule (based on seasonal sell in)
7. Inventory new sales samples each season
8. Coordinate w/ developers around late products or changes to products throughout the season
9. Build and finalize shot lists for each shoot
10. Identify model candidates based on fit, authenticity, diversity, and vibe
11. Prepare studio space before each shoot (ordering necessary supplies, cleaning, organizing SMS, etc.)
12. manage asset editing, QC and background clipping
13. Deliver assets to DAM admin
14. Forecast and maintain studio budget
15. Manage sample room and help prep / source product for studio and field shoots
16. In-house photographer for company events
What other responsibilities Studio Manager would have:
1. Be primary studio photographer
2. Coordinating/producing/shooting Glam photography (depending on candidate)
3. Help prep product for field shoots
4. Comprehensive Studio maintenance—keeping space clean, organized, and supplied. Maintaining camera and lighting equipment, etc.
5. General Sample management and inventory
6. Coordinate with videographer for Video shoots
